Renaissance Guitar
The 4-course Renaissance guitar was a popular instrument throughout the 16th century, falling out of use in the 17th century when it was replaced by the larger 5-course guitar. Due to its small size, this instrument is easy to play and an excellent travel companion. The Renaissance guitar has its own solo repertoire, with works by composers such as Adrian Le Roy and Guillaume de Morlaye. It also responds well to strumming, making it ideal for accompanying other instruments.
This model is based on various historical illustrations and drawings.
